Day 1: Arrival at JRO

Your Tanzanian adventure begins as you touch down on the fertile soil of Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). At this crucial starting point, our seasoned team will warmly greet you, signaling the start of your journey with us. Upon your arrival at JRO, we’ll facilitate your smooth transfer to your accommodation in Arusha, laying the groundwork for the days ahead filled with anticipation and excitement.

Day 2: Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut

Your Kilimanjaro expedition kicks off at the Marangu Gate (1,860 meters or 6,102 feet). On the first day, you’ll complete registration, meet our seasoned guides and dedicated porters, and begin a 3 to 4-hour trek through the captivating rainforests. The trail boasts unique flora and fauna. You’ll spend your first night at the Mandara Hut (2,700 meters or 8,858 feet).

Day 3: Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut

On Day 3, your journey progresses from Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut. This entails a 6 to 7-hour hike, spanning approximately 11 kilometers (7 miles). As you ascend, the scenery transitions from rainforest to moorland, offering captivating views throughout the hike.

Day 4: Acclimatization Day at Horombo Hut

Day 4 is a pivotal acclimatization day at Horombo Hut. You’ll have the chance to explore the nearby area or embark on short hikes to higher elevations. This day is crucial for allowing your body to adjust to the rising altitude, a necessary preparation for a successful summit attempt.

Day 5: Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut

The summit attempt commences either late on Day 5 or early on the following day, contingent upon your pace. As you ascend, you’ll navigate challenging scree slopes and pass by the awe-inspiring Gilman’s Point (5,681 meters or 18,638 feet). Ultimately, you’ll arrive at Uhuru Peak (5,895 meters or 19,341 feet), Africa’s highest point, marking a momentous achievement. Following this triumph, descend back to Horombo Hut.

Day 6: Summit Day - Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak and Horombo Hut

The summit attempt starts either late on Day 5 or early the next day, depending on your pace. As you ascend, you’ll tackle challenging scree slopes and pass by the mesmerizing Gilman’s Point (5,681 meters or 18,638 feet). Ultimately, you’ll reach Uhuru Peak (5,895 meters or 19,341 feet), Africa’s highest point, marking a remarkable achievement. After celebrating at the peak, you’ll descend to Horombo Hut.

Day 7: Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate

On Day 6, you will continue your descent from Horombo Hut to the Marangu Gate, marking the end of your unforgettable Kilimanjaro adventure.

Day 8: Departure

At the Marangu Gate, we honor your accomplishment with a summit certificate, recognizing your unwavering determination. As you return to your accommodation in Arusha, you’ll reflect on the remarkable journey you’ve undertaken.

You have the option to extend your stay in Arusha for another night or continue with your departure plans from Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), carrying with you a profound sense of fulfillment and achievement.
